Land for the development has been purchased, re-zoning and Area Structure Plan By-Laws for that land have been passed in Kneehill County, and a Comprehensive Site Development Plan and sub-division approval are in place. Founded in 1959, Badlands Natural History Association is a not-for-profit organization established to support education and research efforts at Badlands National Park. The profits from sales are donated to the park and are used to fund the purchase library books, improve and maintain photographic collections and museum materials, and to support programs such as the Artist In Residence, Badlands Astronomy Festival, Junior Rangers, interns, and volunteers.
